Position Title: Technical Director

Position Description: Reporting to the Managing Director – Software and working laterally with other Technical Directors, the Project Management team, the QA team, and the R&D team, the Technical Director manages software development staff to ensure timely delivery of market-leading custom software apps. This position is full-time, based in Ramallah, and requires supervision of 20+ staff.
Responsibilities:
Manage the design, development, release, and support phases for custom and product-based software, using industry best practices and new technologies.
Manage resources and timelines for multiple projects simultaneously. Manage multiple teams concurrently, including Frontend, Backend, UI/UX, & Mobile Apps, & Systems Support.
Identify and establish development processes and standards to enhance the productivity and performance of the different software teams.
Lead Technical Team Leads in implementing cross-functional agile development cycles, including sprint planning, standups, and showcases.
Work with the Managing Director and other technical directors to plan short and long term staffing strategies for the software teams.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience managing a software team of 15+ developers and leading multiple, concurrent project life cycles.
In-depth knowledge of Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
Advanced knowledge of project planning tools (JIRA or similar), and code repositories (BitBucket or GitHub).
Excellent understanding of current web and mobile apps with strong ability to perform code, architecture, and database reviews.
Direct experience serving as a client-facing technical POC for external English-speaking clients.
Strong communication skills; strong ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical client audiences.
Ability to travel on short notice to client sites outside Palestine.
Strong proficiency in English: Ability to write clear technical spec docs for clients in English, and brief clients in showcases/design meetings.
